Oral mucositis is a side effect of chemotherapy or/and radiotherapy, affecting about 20–80% of patients generals, and in almost all patients who receive radiation therapy of the head and neck area. There are only a few clinical trials in the literature proving any kind of effective treatment or preventive methods. Therefore, in this study, we conducted a systematic review of the literature and examined the most effective treatments and preventive methods for chemotherapy/radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis.
